Visakhapatnam (Vizag) is rapidly establishing itself as one of India’s emerging Global Capability Centre (GCC) destinations. Once known primarily for its port and heavy industries, the city is now attracting multinational corporations to set up GCCs, IT delivery centres, and innovation campuses.

Confirmed GCC and Campus Investments

Eisai Pharma (Japan) – The Japanese pharmaceutical company is establishing a Global Capability Centre in Vizag, focused on digital operations, data analytics, and enterprise solutions to support its global operations.

ANSR (India) – ANSR is developing a GCC Innovation Campus in the Madhurawada IT Cluster, designed to host multiple multinational GCCs. The project is expected to create over 10,000 jobs, providing both workspace and training facilities for global IT and business services operations.

Cognizant (USA) – The IT and consulting giant is launching a large-scale campus in Vizag, starting with temporary operations in early 2026. The campus will focus on cloud, AI, and digital solutions, gradually expanding into a full-fledged delivery centre.

Tata Consultancy Services (India) – TCS is starting operations in Vizag with a delivery centre for global clients. Initial operations will employ thousands of professionals, with plans to expand the permanent campus by 2027.

NTT Ltd. (Japan) – NTT is set to launch its Global Capability Centre in March 2026, with the company already leasing space at the Inspiredge Building. The GCC will focus on IT operations, cloud, and managed services for global clients.

Why Vizag Is Becoming Attractive

Vizag offers several advantages for GCCs and global delivery operations:

  • A skilled and growing talent pool in IT, engineering, and analytics.

  • Lower operational and real estate costs compared to traditional hubs like Bengaluru or Hyderabad.

  • Strong government support, including policy incentives and infrastructure development.

  • Emerging tech ecosystem, with innovation clusters, IT parks, and data infrastructure supporting large-scale operations.
